European Green Deal

The European Green Deal is the European Union's comprehensive growth strategy aimed at transforming the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy. Launched in 2019, it seeks to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, reduce pollution, restore biodiversity, and promote a sustainable economy that leaves no one behind.

Key initiatives of the European Green Deal include:

  • Climate Law: Establishing the legal framework for the EU's climate neutrality goal by 2050 and a binding target to reduce emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
  • Circular Economy Action Plan: Promoting sustainable product policies, waste reduction, and recycling.
  • Farm to Fork Strategy: Ensuring sustainable food systems by addressing food production, distribution, and consumption practices.

The European Green Deal aligns with the goals of the Paris Agreement and aims to make the EU a leader in sustainable development.
